18th Birthday Celebration at Odette: A Culinary Journey of Three Michelin Stars Delights

My daughter standing next to Odette Sign

Odette is a culinary gem in the heart of Singapore that is a must-visit for any food enthusiast. This Three Michelin Stars restaurant is a haven for foodies who appreciate fine dining, impeccable service, and innovative cuisine. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Odette for my daughter's 18th birthday lunch. We indulged in a tasting menu featuring eight exquisite courses and a special birthday cake.

As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by the friendly staff who showed us to our table in the elegant and sophisticated dining room. The ambiance of the restaurant was breathtaking, with a blend of modern and classical architecture, stylish furnishings, and an exquisite art collection that adorned the walls.

Normandy Brown Crab

We started our culinary journey with the Normandy Brown Crab, a light and refreshing starter that combined the sweetness of crab meat with the tangy flavor of avocado, nashi pear, and coriander. The dish was beautifully presented, with the crab meat cut into perfect cubes and covered with avocado jello. The nashi pear added a refreshing crunch to the dish, while the coriander provided a burst of flavor that perfectly complemented the sweetness of the crab meat.

Heirloom Beetroot Variation

The Heirloom Beetroot Variation was a visual feast that featured three different types of beetroot blended and shaped into round balls and presented in a beautiful arrangement. The vibrant colors of the beets were complemented by a light and refreshing dressing that brought out the natural sweetness of the vegetables. The dish was presented with stracciatella Artigiana dollops, a type of Italian cheese that added a creamy and tangy element to the dish. At the same time, the honey provided a hint of sweetness that tied everything together.

Rosemary Smoked Organic Egg

The third dish was the Rosemary Smoked Organic Egg, a dish that was as visually appealing as it was flavorful. Served in a round glass, the egg was mixed to become bubbly and infused with a smoky flavor from the rosemary. The dish was accompanied by chorizo iberico, which added a salty and slightly spicy element to the dish, and a slice of brioche that was toasted to perfection and added a delightful crunch to the dish.

BBQ Kinki

Next was the BBQ Kinki, a grilled fish dish served with a tangy sauce. The dish was cooked to perfection, with the fish having a slightly crispy exterior that gave way to tender and juicy meat infused with the grill's smoky flavor. The dish was also topped with dukkah spice, an Egyptian spice blend that added a nutty and slightly spicy flavor to the dish, while the sand carrot provided a subtle sweetness that complemented the fish perfectly. The dish was finished with a sprinkle of Iranian saffron, adding a luxurious touch.

Pyrenees Lamb

For the main course, we opted for the Pyrenees Lamb, a dish that had tender, juicy meat infused with a rich, deep flavor. The dish was accompanied by quinoa, which added a nutty and slightly crunchy element to the dish, and amalfi lemon, which provided a tangy and refreshing flavor that cut through the richness of the lamb. The dish was finished with a jus tranche, a type of French sauce made by reducing lamb stock and red wine, adding a depth of flavor to the dish.

Yuzu Tart

After enjoying all the savory dishes, we were ready for something sweet to end the meal. We were presented with the Yuzu Tart, a dessert that looked almost too pretty to eat. The sable breton crust was buttery and crumbly, and the yuzu filling was light and refreshing. The shiso leaves and basil provided a lovely herbaceous note to the dish, making it the perfect end to a fantastic meal.

But the culinary journey wasn't over yet. We were presented with a platter of petite douceurs, or sweet treats, to cap off our dining experience. From the chocolate truffles to the raspberry macarons, each petit four was a bite-sized burst of flavor that left us wanting more.

As we finished our meal and prepared to leave, we were surprised with a special birthday cake for my daughter. The cake was delicious and a stunning work of art that left us all in awe.

Our experience at Odette was truly unforgettable. From the impeccable service to the exquisite food and stunning ambience, everything was perfect. It was the ideal setting to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday and create lasting memories with our loved ones. We left the restaurant feeling satisfied and content, and already planning our next visit.
